Accessibility Statement
The short version
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across our website and customer portal. We test with real assistive technologies, publish open issues honestly, and respond to accessibility feedback within five business days at accessibility@sfinnov.com.
1. Our commitment
Internet access is essential infrastructure. Designing it to work for everyone — including people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or situational disabilities — isn't optional. SF Innovations is committed to making our marketing website (sfinnov.com), customer portal, billing, and customer communications accessible in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA).
2. Standards we follow
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. We also align with Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and EN 301 549 where applicable. Our customer-portal engineering team treats accessibility regressions as bugs of the same severity as functional regressions.
3. What's already in place
- Semantic HTML5 landmarks (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<footer>) so screen readers and skip-links work. - Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements that meet WCAG 2.4.11 contrast requirements.
- Color contrast for body text of at least 4.5:1 (AA) and 7:1 (AAA) on the dark theme; 4.5:1 minimum on the light theme.
- Full keyboard navigability of the website, mobile menu, FAQ accordion, and form controls.
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query — animations, marquees, and counters are disabled when the user requests reduced motion.prefers-color-schemerespected, plus a manual dark/light theme toggle for users who want explicit control.- Accessible names on all icons, including SVG buttons, via
aria-label. - Captions provided for all video content; transcripts available on request.
- Forms with explicit
<label>associations,aria-livevalidation messages, and error states announced to screen readers. - Skip-to-content link on every page.
4. Known limitations
We try to be candid about where we still have work to do. Current known issues as of the date above:
- The marquee strip on the homepage announces neighborhood names continuously when JavaScript is enabled. Reduced-motion users see a static list. We are evaluating alternative presentations for AT users who do not opt into reduced motion.
- Some PDFs in our public press kit predate WCAG 2.2 and are not fully tagged; reformatted versions are in progress and will be published in Q3 2026.
- The "diagnostics" mock dashboard on the homepage is decorative; while it has appropriate
aria-hiddenmarkup, screen-reader users see only the surrounding text. A textual alternative is on the roadmap.
5. Compatible technologies
We test with the following combinations, in order of usage volume:
- VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) with Safari and Chrome
- NVDA with Firefox and Chrome on Windows 11
- JAWS with Edge on Windows 11
- TalkBack with Chrome on Android 13+
The site supports the latest two versions of all major browsers. JavaScript is required for the customer portal; the marketing site degrades gracefully and is fully usable with JavaScript disabled.
6. Assessment approach
Accessibility on our properties is checked through a combination of:
- Automated CI checks — axe-core runs on every pull request.
- Linting and code review — semantic-HTML and ARIA correctness are required for sign-off.
- Manual keyboard and screen-reader testing — performed before each release.
- Annual third-party audit — most recently completed in February 2026 by an independent VPAT-certified auditor.
- User research with assistive-technology users — at least once per major redesign.
7. Feedback and accommodations
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, customer portal, or in any communication from us, please let us know. We treat accessibility reports as priority issues and will work with you on an accommodation while we fix the underlying problem.
We respond to all accessibility feedback within five business days.
